The Project: An interactive touch screen kiosk for the “Dunera: Stories of Internment” Exhibition.
What We Did: We designed and built the interactive program to run on a touch screen kiosk, allowing visitors to search through the database and view information on internees.
The Exhibition: Housed at the State Library of NSW, “Faces of Dunera” brought together a collection of incredible art and stories that documented the history of internment at several locations around Australia during the years before and after World War 2, from the perspective of the internees themselves. 
The Outcome: The kiosk accompanied the exhibition, providing visitors a simple to use search mechanism to browse the names of internees and view information about each individual, painstakingly gathered over many years.

Technical Implementation: We developed the kiosk software using HTML technologies and a self-contained Node instance, enabling it to run offline with content securely isolated from the internet.
This approach allowed for easy development and deployment via a standalone browser instance, running on a windows machine, connected to a 42 inch touch screen display. The end result was a simple and effective solution deployed in the gallery space.
The Creative Process: We worked within the style direction already developed for the exhibition, adhering to the general guides.
Our in-house design team created the UI to be simple and easy to use, knowing that many of the cohort that would make up the audience would be of different age groups with a varying degree of technical literacy and dexterity.
