Young Street Medical

Overview

Young Street Medical launched as an innovative new integrative health clinic in Wollongong, designed to offer a more connected and holistic approach to healthcare. From the outset, the brand needed to reflect a progressive mindset, one that respects traditional medical practice while thoughtfully integrating complementary and allied health treatments within a single, cohesive model of care.

Challenge

The core challenge was positioning Young Street Medical as a credible, professional integrative health centre without alienating patients who value either conventional medicine or complementary therapies. Integrative health approaches can sometimes be perceived as sitting outside science-based medicine, despite their potential to deliver meaningful outcomes when applied responsibly. The brand needed to bridge these worlds, moving away from siloed care and towards a unified, patient-centric experience.

Approach

We worked closely with the Young Street Medical team to encapsulate their integrative health ethos through a restrained, minimalist visual language layered with organic warmth.

This included developing a mood and style-scape to define the visual and tonal north star for the brand, establishing a design system that balanced clarity, trust, and calm, and introducing an organic motif centred around the leaf. The leaf symbolised medicine, life, growth, protection, and shelter, aligning with the principles of integrative health and whole-person care.

Inspiration was drawn from local flora and fauna, grounding the brand in its Wollongong setting while maintaining subtlety and sophistication. The result was a visual identity that felt welcoming and human, while still conveying the authority and professionalism expected of a medical and allied health clinic.

Outcome

The final brand system was delivered across multiple practical formats to support real-world usage. This included landscape and square logo configurations, full name and condensed acronym versions, and both light and dark applications.

The chosen green palette reinforced calm, vitality, and growth, while a clean white backdrop maintained a strong sense of clinical professionalism. Together, these elements balanced the natural and the clinical, reflecting the integrative health model at the heart of the centre.

Our Role

We led the brand development end-to-end, from conceptual exploration and visual direction through to final logo systems and brand assets. Our role was to translate the principles of integrative health into a clear, scalable visual identity that could confidently guide future communications and touchpoints.

By uniting traditional medicine with complementary and allied health approaches under one coherent identity, the clinic positions itself as progressive, inclusive, and genuinely patient-focused, offering holistic care without compromise.
