Sydney International Activations

We worked with Octagon to design and build a combination of activations that engaged with attendees and Tennis fans at the Sydney International Tournament. The two activations each had their own technical challenges which our team eagerly embraced.

The first, Bin it to Win it, saw participants step up to test their aim with a tennis racquet, along with their knowledge of recycling. As an attendant controlled the custom iPad app we designed and built, the participant could view the relevant graphical instruction that was synced via WiFi to the big screen. Players competed to achieve the best score of the day in an active and fun way.

The second, The Mister Fan Quiz, took the form of four mist spraying fans located at various points around the centre grounds. Participants were able to walk up to the fans and were rewarded with a cool blast from the fan if they managed to answer a multiple choice questions about water usage facts. Technically we used a combination of WiFi receivers and remote WiFi power switches that were custom programmed to interact with our iOS apps used as UI controllers.

Both the activations created audience engagement with the brand through interactive challenges that, whilst simple, were designed to entertain and help raise awareness of issues regarding recycling, resources and water.
